In this online course, you will master the fundamentals skills required by design professionals that use Autodesk Inventor 2018 as their solid model design tool. It also uses the Autodesk certified curriculum to give you all the skills you need to prepare for the Autodesk Inventor Certified User exam. The Autodesk Inventor online course begins by teaching you how to use and navigate the Autodesk Inventor interface. From there, you will learn how to create new part files, add sketches to the parts, and then use these sketches to create 3D solid geometry.
Along with the sketched based features, you will also learn how to incorporate many additional features to both add and remove geometry. These include features such as chamfers, fillets, holes, drafts, shells, and ribs. You will also learn how incorporating special tools while sketching or using work features, patterning techniques, and equations can help you become much more efficient with the creation of your design. To complete the 3D part design content, you will also learn to create advanced geometry using lofts and sweeps.
Once part modeling has been mastered, you will learn how part designs can be combined with one another to create an assembly design. Both joints and constraints are discussed as the methods that can be used to constrain parts to one another. Additional assembly design tools are also covered, enabling you to learn how to create parts and features at the assembly level, as well as how to replace, duplicate, and restructure components in an assembly design, and generate a Bill of Materials.
All parts and assembly designs are generally documented in a 2D format for manufacturing purposes. The 2D Drawing tools in Autodesk Inventor allow you to create and annotate 2D documents that reference and parametrically update based on a referenced 3D design file. The final chapters in this course teach you how to create and annotate 2D drawing views, and then add any additional detailing to accurately communicate the 3D model to the manufacturing team.
The online content is this course is both written and video-based, and includes hands-on exercises where you are required to use the software and downloaded files to learn and practice your new skills. This course includes a voucher to take the certifying exam. Proctor fees may apply, which are not included.
